GLOBAL - BNY Mellon, PMI, LionTrust, Hermes, Newton, LaSalle
BNY Mellon Asset Management - Tim Wilkinson and his team of transition management have been appointed to the Mellon Transition Management division and join from Citi Transition management, the transition management business of Citigroup Markets. Wilkinson has been appointed managing director for EMEA and Toby Goold has been named director responsible for sales. Greg Metzmacher and Raymond Pestana join as directors, Andrew Cooper as vice president and Robert Dixon and Chloe Wilson as associates.
The Pensions Management Institute (PMI) - Mike Sullivan has been chosen as president and will replace the current president, Steve Delo, at PMI's annual general meeting on July 09 2009. Sullivan is currently vice president of the PMI Council and also head of employee benefits and pensions at Veolia Environment UK Ltd.
Liontrust Asset Management -Ilex Asset Management's European fixed income team has been recruited to help Liontrust broaden its product range and expand into new asset classes. The team is made up of Simon Thorp, chief investment officer, James Sclater, senior portfolio manager, Gareth Roblin, chief operating officer and Paul Owens and Quentin Peacock, co-heads of research.
Hermes - Simon Ewan has been appointed director and head of European sales and will focus on executing and developing Hermes' distribution activities in Continental Europe. Ewan joins from ABN Asset Management, where he was director of global sales and head of alternatives.
Newton - Robert Hay has replaced Alex Stanic as lead manager for the Newton Global Opportunities Fund and BNY Mellon Global Intrepid Fund, following Stanic's decision to resign earlier this month to become global head of equities for River & Mercantile. Paul Markham replaces Stanic as alternative manager for the Newton International Growth Fund and as lead manager for the BNY Mellon Global Equity Fund. Jon Bell has replaced Stanic as alternative manager for the Newton Global Higher Income Fund and has been appointed alternative manager for the BNY Mellon Global Equity Fund.
LaSalle - Gerald Blundell will retire from LaSalle Investment Management at the end of April 2009 and resign the position of European Director which he has held since 1999. He will continue his research in risk management and portfolio strategy through the Investment Property Forum.
