GLOBAL - AEIP, EFAMA, Newscape Capital Group, Liontrust, Gartmore, Cordea Savills, Aviva Investors, Xafinity, Cheyne Capital Management
AEIP - Esa Swanljung, representing the Finnish Pension Alliance, is the new chairman of European Association of paritarian or jointly-managed social protection institutions, replacing Jacques Brossard from Switzerland, representative of the employers. Thomas Schleicher, representing the employers' side and SOKA-BAU, Germany, is now vice-president and Gerard Riemen from VB in the Netherlands is treasurer. Secretary of the Board is Vincent Hamelink representing Dexia Pension Fund, Luxembourg. The key roles change every two years.
EFAMA - Jean-Baptiste de Franssu, chief executive of Invesco Europe, has been elected as president of the European Fund And Asset Management Association, for a two-year term. Claude Kremer is vice-president. He is currently chairman of the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI) And is a founding partner and head of investment management of the Luxembourg law firm Arendt & Medernach.
Newscape Capital Group - Derek Fulton, former head of global closed-end fixed income portfolios at Aberdeen Asset Management, is now a board director and chief investment officer at the investment boutique. This also follows an agreement to work with Patrick and Ana Armstrong, previously co-heads of the multi- asset group at Insight Investments, under their new banner as Armstrong Investment Managers.
Liontrust - Ross Hollyman, investment director at GAM, will be joining the company in January 2010 as global equity fund manager.
Gartmore - John Bennett is now senior portfolio manager for European Equities, having spent the last 16 years at GAM where he last managed two European equity funds. He will report to Dominic Rossi, chief investment officer.
Cordea Savills - David Bailey has been appointed at the property firm as a consultant to the Charities Property Fund. He was previously head of charities at Aberdeen Asset Management. Rubeena Hossenbocus is also now manager within the institutional business group's distribution team, reporting to Michael Flynn, global head of institutional business. She was previously overseas discretionary sales manager at M&G for Asia, South Africa and the Middle East.
Aviva Investors - Ian Hally has been named as chief executive of real estate for the Asia Pacific region. Based in Singapore, he will report to Ian Womack, chief executive of Aviva's real estate division. He was previously head of strategy and indirect investment for Asia Pacific real estate and joined the company in 2007.
Xafinity - Nicola Hurst has been appointed to a new role of chief operating officer, looking after all delivery to customers in the pensions arena. She joined from HP, and following its acquisition, EDS, where she held a number of senior positions including managing director for UK public sector and European vice-president for managed services.
Cheyne Capital Management - Jorge Giampaoli is partner and portfolio manager of the firm's equity macro fund, having joined from Morgan Stanley where he was in charge of propriety trading for European equities. He will report to Chris Goekjian, chief investment officer.
