GLOBAL - Janus Capital, Cardano, Standard Life Investments, Robeco, NAPF, OPF/VB, Fortis Belgium, F&C, Russell Investments, ProTrak
Janus Capital - Gary Black has stepped down as chief executive and Tim Armour has been named as interim CEO. Black arrived in October 2005 and Armour joined the Janus board in March 2008.
Cardano - Bart Heenk, formerly MD at SEI Investments Netherlands, and Steven Catchpole, previously an investment adviser to pension funds and trustees at PricewaterhouseCoopers, have joined the firm to manage and develop client relationships. Heenk will continue to focus on the Netherlands while Catchpole will work with UK clients.
Standard Life Investments - Michael Geier has joined the European business development team as investment director for Germany & Austria, reporting to Phil Barker, head of European business development. He was previously head of third-party distribution covering Germany, Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland at ABN Amro Asset Management Germany as well as head of bank distribution for Germany & Austria. Eric Roberts has also joined as head of US institutional sales, having previously been managing director for US northeast sales at Putnam Investments.
Robeco - Jeroen van Rooij has joined as head of institutional business for the Benelux and other regions, and will have direct sales responsibility in the Benelux, Italy, Scandinavia and the UK. He will also supervise the institutional account management team, though this will continue to be led by Catrinus van Willigen who is now deputy-head of this institutional division and reports to Jeroen van Rooij. He joined from SEI Investments where he was Benelux institutional sales director.
National Associate of Pensions Funds (NAPF) - Ray Martin and Joy Moore have been elected as chairmen of the NAPF's two main policy making councils. Ray Martin, now vice president of pensions at DHL, will take over from Arno Kitts as chair of the investment council while Joy Moore, head of pensions at RWE Npower, will replace Ruth Goldman as head of the retirement policy council on October 16.
OPF/VB - Sibylle Reichert will join the Dutch Association of Industry-wide Pension Funds (VB) and the Dutch Association of Company Pension Funds in October as lobbyist on European pensions issues. She previously spent over six years at European Association of Paritarian Institutions of Social Protection (AEIP) in Brussels in a similar capacity.
Fortis Belgium - Bart De Smet, acting chief executive of Fortis since July 1 2009, has been co-opted by the board of directors at Fortis SA/NV in Belgium to become an executive member of the board. His position will be voted on at the EGM on 18 September.
F&C - Jacob De Wit, head of fixed income, and Richard Wilson, head of equities, have been appointed to the group's executive committee - tasked with implementation of the firm's strategy - following the group's demerger.
Russell Investments - Dr Stephen Wood has been promoted to chief market strategist for North America, having previously been senior portfolio strategist, while Doug Gordon has been upgraded from portfolio analyst to investment strategist.
ProTrak - Rachel Minard, hedge fund manager, president and partner of Cogo Wolf Asset Management LLC, has been made chairman of the software firm's new advisory board.
