GLOBAL - AIC, Henderson New Star, Ignis Asset Management, Axa Rosenberg, Watson Wyatt, Gartmore, RWC Partners, SGSS

Association of Investment Companies - Daniel Godfrey, director general at the investment body, today announced he is leaving to seek a new challenge. He will continue to serve the AIC on a consultancy basis to assist a smooth transition. Ian Sayers, deputy director general, will be acting director general until a permanent appointment is made.

Henderson New Star - Mark Carpenter has been named head of property funds. He will replace Roger Dossett, who is leaving to pursue new opportunities. Carpenter, who is a director of the property division, will remain deputy chairman of the Henderson Property Investment Committee.

Ignis Asset Management - Philip Goldsmith has become managing director for Europe and will lead manage a European distribution team from September. He will be based in Valais, Switzerland and will be responsible for distribution in France and French-speaking territories. Former New Star colleagues André Haubensack, Mauro Loran, Arcangelo Barletta and Ghislaine Fournigault will also join the team. Haubensack will be regional director for Germanic countries, based in Zurich. Loran will be based in Madrid as regional director for Iberia and Latin America Barletta will work from Milan as Italian regional director of Italy and Ticino. And Fournigault will act as Benelux from the London office. A further five support staff will join too.

Axa Rosenberg - Robert Hegt has joined as European head of sales and marketing. Formerly in senior sales and business development roles at Wellington Management and Schroders, he will report to Simon Vanstone, who previously held the role but assumed responsibility for global sales and consultant relationships towards the end of last year, in addition to his role as European chief executive officer.

Watson Wyatt - Sarah Green has joined the implementation team to assist with fund restructuring projects such as buy-ins and longevity swaps. She joined from Paternoster where she was an investment operations manager. Toby Baldwin has also left HSBC Global Asset Management to become an investment consultant in the London office.

Gartmore - Leigh Himsworth is leaving Royal London Asset Management to join Gartmore in the autumn as head of UK equities. He will report to chief investment officer Dominic Rossi.

RWC Partners - Gabe Marshank, Alex Robarts, Sam Weeman and trader Hayes Varey are joining the firm. Marshank will partner with Mike Corcell who runs the US long short funds, having worked at SAC Capital for seven years as senior analyst. Robarts previously worked with Corcell at Threadneedle. And Weeman was number two in the global tobacco team at JPMorgan Investment Bank.

SGSS - Frédéric Barroyer is now chief executive of Société Générale Securities Services Germany, based in Munich. He was previously CEO for the Asia-Pacific region, (ex Japan) based in Singapore.
