Hermes Fund Managers, Sparinvest, Muzinich, Bank of London and the Middle East and Hymans Robertson
Hermes Fund Managers - John Mould, former chief operating officer of New Star Asset Management, has joined Hermes in the same capacity. The post has been newly created, bringing together responsibility for Hermes' central service functions formerly shared between several individuals.
Sparinvest - Dr Allan Timmermann, Atkinson/Epstein Professor of Finance at the University of California San Diego, has joined the newly-established advisory board, helping Sparinvest's investment committee to help develop investment strategies through academic insight. He is joined by Dr Thorsten Hens, head of the Swiss Banking Institute and Professor of Financial Economics at the University of Zurich and at the Norwegian Business School in Bergen.
Muzinich - Ilona Wachter and Yasmin Ibrahim have joined the distribution teams for Europe and the US respectively. Wachter, who was previously managing director for institutional investors at BNP Paribas Asset Management in Germany, has become director of institutional sales in Muzinich's Cologne office. Ibrahim is the new associate director of marketing and client services and joins from Avenue Capital Group, where she was a vice president in the business development group.
Bank of London and the Middle East - Muriel Simon has joined as private banker from UBS London, where she was a director focusing on UK resident non-domiciled high net worth clients. Fazal Ahmed, previously a European real estate specialist at Bank of Ireland Property Finance, and Ihab Al-Derzi, who was high net worth relationship manager at Barclays Bank, have also joined BLME as private bankers.
Hymans Robertson - Helen McArthur has been appointed head of communication and engagement at the UK consultants. She joined the company's communications team in 2007 from RSA Group, where she was a trustee and governance manager.
