GLOBAL - Jupiter Investment Management Holdings, PKE, Nordea Life Assurance Finland, TPR, Alliance Trust, SEB Enskilda, Sampo Group, J P Morgan Asset Management, Setanta Asset Management, Muse Advisory, Jones Lang LaSalle

Jupiter Investment Management Holdings - Philip Johnson has been appointed to a newly-created role as chief financial officer, a board-level position. He joins in October from Marshall Wace, where he was finance director.

PKE - Ronald Schnurrenberger has been appointed chief executive of the Swiss energy sector pension fund. He had taken over the role on an interim basis when Clivia Koch left in May this year. He was previously a director of KPMG in Zurich and had been head of KPMG's pension fund network in Zurich since 2003.

Nordea Life Assurance Finland - Pekka Luukkanen has become the company's new managing director, taking up his role on 1 December 2009. He replaces Jukka Venalainen, who will become the company's chairman of the board. Luukkanen was previously managing director of life assurance company Duo.

The Pensions Regulator - Andrew Young and Simon Wasserman have been appointed by TPR to its team of actuaries. Young recently retired from the Government Actuary's Department, where he had been seconded to DWP to work on the initial design of the scheme funding regime and the Pension Protection Fund (PPF). Wasserman was responsible for Aon Consulting's Global Benefits Practice and has advised multinational companies of all sizes on their benefit plans.

Alliance Trust - Rod Davidson, currently global head of fixed income at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, has been engaged along with three other fixed income managers from SWIP to increase Alliance's fixed income expertise and provide greater flexibility in asset allocation. The other team members are Gareth Quantrill, Stuart McMaster and Stuart Steven, and the quartet join Alliance early next year.

SEB Enskilda - Fredrik Carlsson is the new head of Swedish equities research, starting this autumn. He was previously head of equities at AP2, the Second Swedish National Pension Fund. Before joining AP2, he worked at HSBC, Bank of America and Fidelity in London. Roland Jonsson has also recently been appointed head of Scandinavian equities research. He joined SEB Enskilda in 2005 and previously worked at Hagglof & Ponsbach, SG Warburg and Deutsche Bank.

Sampo Group - Timo Vuorinen, vice president, head of BA Baltic and Russia with the group's subsidiary, If P&C Insurance, has joined the Group executive committee. He has also been managing director of If P&C Insurance Company (Finland) since August 2008.

J P Morgan Asset Management - Pierre-Yves Bareau has been hired as head of the emerging market debt team, based in London. He joins from Fortis Investments, where he has been the chief investment officer for emerging market debt for over ten years.

Setanta Asset Management - Kieran Dempsey has been appointed managing director of Dublin-based Setanta Asset Management, the asset management business of Canada Life. He will however also continue in his current role as CIO. Before joining Setanta last year, Dempsey was chief executive officer of GE Asset Management in Europe.

Muse Advisory - Julia Land and Anne Kershaw have been appointed by the independent consultancy as director-level associates in its team. Land, a former partner of Independent Audit and fund director at Deutsche Asset Management's UK institutional pension fund business, is a corporate governance specialist and a qualified leadership coach. Kershaw is an actuary and former worldwide partner of Mercer, leading their Scottish investment consulting team.

Jones Lang LaSalle - John Stephen, chair of the company's English Business, is to retire to take up a series of external property roles. He has been with the company for 36 years and a partner/director for nearly 30 years. His successor will be announced shortly.
