GLOBAL - Assogestioni, Lexam Partners, APG, Mercer, Zurich Group, SSGA, BNY Mellon, SLI, VAM Funds, Veritas AM.

Assogestioni - The association of Italian asset managers has elected Michael Atzwanger, head of PensPlan, to its board of directors. PensPlan is said to have earned its place on the board for its work on supplementary pension provision in Northern Italy. Domenico Siniscalco, former Italian finance minister, was elected the new president of Assogestioni.

Lexam Partners - A new company has been created by the former EMEA chief executive of Russell Investments and the ex-deputy chief executive of Société Générale, along with two other colleagues. Frédéric Jolly, who was at Russell until June 2008, has now teamed up with Philippe Collas, former head of SG Asset Management, Steve Wiltshire, former CIO of Russell Multi-Asset Investment Solutions, and Kevin Dolan, who was previously CEO of the Bank of Ireland's asset management division and then joined La Fayette Investment Management as group CEO.

APG - Eduard van Gelderen is joining on 1 April as CIO of the equities platform with responsibility for emerging markets and developed markets equities, ESG and the Treasury Centre. He will also become a member of the asset management board. He recently worked at ING Investment Management as deputy chief investment officer for equity, fixed income and structured products.

Mercer - Stephen Roberts will join the consultancy on 19 April as regional business leader for investment management in the Asia/Pacific region. He previously worked in senior executive roles at Russell Investment Group, including as managing director for institutional investment services, Australasia.

Zurich Financial Services Group - Cecilia Reyes has been appointed as chief investment officer and member of the group executive committee, effective April 1, 2010, reporting to CEO Martin Senn. She will be based in Zurich and fills the role left by Senn, when he became CEO on 1. She was previously head of investment strategy implementation.

State Street Global Advisors - Marc Reinganum has joined the firm as head of its active developed market equities team. Based in Boston, he will report to Arlene Rockefeller, chief investment officer for global equities. He was previously a senior fund manager and director of qualitative research at Oppenheimer Funds. London-based Jenya Emets has changed roles and joined the enhanced equity team as an investment manager, which includes co-managing the firm's SRI alpha strategy. Matt Arnold is now senior product engineer in the European active equity team. Arnold was previously a European equity investment specialist at Fortis Investments.

BNY Mellon - Andrew Phillips has been appointed as director of Institutional business at the asset management division's Australian operation. Based in Melbourne, he will report to Bruce Murphy, managing director of the Austrialian arm, who is located in Sydney. He was previously based in Singapore as director of Asia-Pacific at RiskMetrics.

Standard Life Investments - Colin Clark has been named as director for the asset manager's global client group, leading global sales, marketing and business development. He has been a non-executive director at SLI for five years and previously worked at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.

VAM Funds - Tim Thornton is business development manager, reporting to Nigel Watson, global sales director, to support the firm's UK expansion.

Veritas Asset Management - Neil Cooper is now senior analyst for the global team. He was previously investment analyst for the global financial sector at Insight Investment.
