State Street Global Advisors - Kristi Mitchem has been appointed senior managing director and global head of its defined contribution business. Mitchem joins from BlackRock, where she was managing director and head of the US defined contribution business. SSgA has also named Alistair Lowe as global equities chief investment officer, succeeding Arlene Rockefeller, who is retiring after 30 years' service.
BNP Paribas Investment Partners - Martin Fridson is joining the company as global credit strategist within its global credit investment team. He was previously chief executive of Fridson Investment Advisors.
Majedie Asset Management - Simon Todd and Michael Nickson will join the group this autumn to set up a new global equity business. Both were previously at Odey Asset Management as co-managers of the Odey Allegra Global fund.
Investment Management Association - Claude Chene, chief executive of AllianceBernstein Limited, has joined the IMA board, along with Richard Kushel, vice chairman of BlackRock Investment Management (UK); and Campbell Fleming, head of distribution at Threadneedle Asset Management. The changes took place at the IMA's annual general meeting, which saw Matthew Stemp, executive director at Signia Wealth, and Ian Trevers, head of distribution at Invesco Perpetual, step down.
F&C - Eberhard Glockner has become director of institutional sales at F&C Germany, reporting to Claus-Dieter Heidrich, country head. Glockner's experience includes 15 years at Allianz Global Investors, first as a portfolio manager, then in sales and client servicing. He has also worked at Dresdner Bank and Landeszentralbank Koblenz.
Barnett Waddingham - Jane Galvin has been appointed chief operating officer and a partner of the independent actuaries and consultants. Galvin, an actuary, most recently worked as a consultant for several financial services companies, including an interim role as customer services director at Scottish Widows and a change development role across the Lloyds Banking Group.
Climate Change Capital - Stephen Lilley has been appointed head of its new European renewable energy infrastructure asset management team. Lilley was previously a principal in the European infrastructure fund run by M&G/Prudential Group.
Aviva Investors - Justin Craib-Cox has been appointed as a fund manager on the convertible bond team. Craib-Cox was previously a deputy fund manager at M&G Investments.
Governance for Owners - Staffan Elmgren has become group partner responsible for marketing and business development at the shareowner engagement specialist. Elmgren has been an independent adviser to Nordic and international clients for the past 10 years. Before that, he was vice president, head of operations and head of private equity at Alecta in his native Sweden. GO has also appointed Pedro Yaguez as investment partner and Alex Hirsch as investment analyst, both in its European Focus fund team.
Pitmans Trustees - Simon Riviere has been appointed senior manager. He joins from Osborne Clarke, where he was pensions manager in the trustee business.
BESTrustees - Clive Gilchrist has become deputy chairman, while Graham Wardle, previously director, replaces him as managing director.
