Acadian Asset Management - Joshua White joins the company as a portfolio manager and researcher, having previously worked at the US Securities & Exchange Commission as assistant director for disclosure and governance at the division of risk, strategy, and financial innovation. He holds a PhD from Harvard University.
AllianceBernstein - The company has announced the appointment of Tim Banks as head of defined contribution sales, who will be charged with expanding AllianceBernstein's presence in the marketplace. Banks joins from Prudential, where he was director of business development and has worked at Towers Watson, Fidelity, and Standard Life in the past.
AXA Investment Managers - Laurent Gueunier has been named head of AXA structured finance. Guenier, who assumes his new role in mid-October, will report to AXA IM's chief executive Dominique Carrel-Billiard and join the company's executive committee.
Hymans Robertson - The consultancy has hired Carl Hitchman as senior investment consultant. Hitchman, who will also be a partner at Hymans Robertson, joins from Deloitte, where he was a consulting director and actuary.
Insparo Asset Management - Former JP Morgan emerging markets expert Graham Stock is joining as chief strategist, in charge of deciding on the firm's strategic investment. During his 12 years at JP Morgan, Stock was in charge of CEEMEA FX strategy, as well investment decisions for the Latin American sovereign market.
Lombard Odier - Frederic Rochat will assume responsibility for the London office from next month, working with Sally Tennant who will remain local managing director. It has also been announced that Rochat will become a managing partner of Lombard Odier in 2012.
Robeco Deutschland - Torben Dunkel, previously a director at Selinus Capital, has joined Robeco as a director of asset management responsible for institutional business, looking after German Versorgungswerke, Pensionskassen and contractual trust arrangements (CTAs). Dunkel began his career as a graduate at JP Morgan and worked in institutional sales at JP Morgan Asset Management.
Schroders - Rory Bateman has been promoted to the newly-created position of head of European equities. Reporting to global head of equities Ken Lambden, Bateman will continue to oversee the core European equity portfolios and manage a team of researchers. He joined Schroders in 2008 from Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Additionally, Chris McGolpin has been named head of client service and business management, in charge of the company's institutional client team. In the past he has worked at both KPMG and Shell.
