Hewitt Associates - Neville McKay has joined the consultancy's retirement consulting team from Towers Watson, where he was responsible for advising some of the UK's largest companies on their defined benefit schemes. Prior to this, he was head of the European Pension Advisory Group at Morgan Stanley, and worked for 16 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Based in London, McKay will advise on de-risking programmes.
Mercer - Steve Mathews has joined Mercer's outsourcing business as a senior associate based in Manchester. He will be responsible for client development in the north of England and in Scotland. In his previous position, Mathews was responsible for new business nationally within the pensions division of NorthgateArinso. Prior to that, he was a business development manager at Aon Consulting.
Northern Trust - Annika Larsson and Erik Norland have joined the company as senior relationship managers in its Stockholm office. Madeleine Senior, managing director of the Nordic region, said their combined local experience and expertise would be invaluable as Northern Trust expanded its client base across the region. The company now has a dedicated relationship team of nine people serving Nordic clients from its Stockholm office.
BT Investment Management - Jason Petras has become a portfolio manager on BT Investment Management's Macro Strategies boutique. He will report to Joe Bracken, head of Macro Strategies, where his chief responsibilities will be to research, develop and implement quantitative strategies for the Global Macro fund. Petras has managed portfolios for Bayhill Capital Management in the US and PMA in Hong Kong and worked for Barclays Capital and Merrill Lynch in London.
Sturgeon Ventures - Tom Powell has joined the 'regulatory incubator' as chief operating officer and investment adviser. Before joining Sturgeon - which specialises in helping entrepreneurs establish start-up financial services businesses in the institutional and wealth management space - Powell was a consultant in the renewable energy sector.
Patrizia Immobilien - Pamela Hoerr has been named chief executive of Patrizia Wohnen, where she will be in charge of the company's asset management. She will assume her role in early 2011, following the departure of Gerhard Faltermeier in December. Hoerr, who began her career at Ernst & Young Real Estate, has also worked for Hudson Advisors and Arminius.
Fidelity Investment Managers - The company has expanded its European real estate team with two new hires. Steve Howling has joined as a portfolio manager on the UK Real Estate fund from CBRE Investors, where he was an associate director and fund manager responsible. Lynne Henderson joins as marketing manager within the European real estate team from ING, where she was a marketing associate within the real estate team.
