GLOBAL - APAPR, BlackRock, Permal, FTSE, Capita Hartshead, Arbuthnot Latham, JP Morgan Asset Management, EMPEA
APAPR - The Romanian pension funds' association has appointed Cornelia Coman as chairperson. She joins from ING Pensions and will replace Crinu Andanut from Allianz Pensions, who served as chairman for the last three years.
BlackRock - Nathan Thorne, George Bitar and Mandy Puri join the asset management firm as managing directors of the new global private equity platform. They will oversee the build-out and ensure the connectedness of the platform, reporting to Matthew Botein, managing director and head of BlackRock Alternative Investors.
Permal Investment Management Services - Paul Jeffries joins the UK institutional business team from the railways pension scheme Railpen Investments. He will start on 1 June and report to Roberto Giuffrida, executive vice-president and co-head of global business development. At Railpen, Jeffries managed the £8bn global equity multi-manager portfolio, investing in both traditional and alternative managers.
FTSE - The index provider has appointed Sir Mark Moody-Stuart as chairman of the FTSE4 Good Policy Committee. Moody-Stuart, who previously chaired the boards of Royal Dutch Shell Group and Anglo American, will be in charge of the evolution of the FTSE4Good index series. This appointment follows the recent launch of the FTSE4Good Ratings service.
Capita Hartshead - Tony Brown joins as DatA+ manager. He will be in charge of leading the development and operation of Capita Hartshead's data analysis and cleansing service. Brown will be based in London and report to Colin Miller, head of operations tracing and DatA+.
Arbuthnot Latham - The private banking and wealth management arm of the banking group has appointed St John Gardner and Gregory Perdon to the newly created roles of co-chief investment officers. Gardner joined Arbuthnot Latham in 2005 and most recently assumed leadership of all discretionary services. Perdon joined the bank in 2010 as head of alternative investments and alternative lending.
JP Morgan Asset Management - The firm has appointed Professor Paul Sweeting to the newly created role of European head of the Strategic Investment Advisory Group.
EMPEA - Sanjay Nayar, chief executive of KKR India has been elected to the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association's board of directors.
