GLOBAL - Progress, UMR, Handelsbanken, Pensions Administration Standards Association, Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, AMP Capital

Progress - Walter Roelofsen has been appointed investment risk controller at Progress, the €4.1bn Dutch pension fund of Unilever. Previously, Roelofsen served as a senior investment controller at Syntrus Achmea Asset Management and as senior operations administrator at Interpolis Asset Management.
 
UMR - The French pension fund has promoted Philippe Rey to the position of chief investment officer. He succeeds Vincent Ribuot, who is now head of marketing and strategy at asset manager OFI. Rey, who previously served as deputy CIO, will start in his new position at the end of this month. Ribuot will start his new role at OFI in September and sit on the executive board.

Handelsbanken - Javiera Ragnartz is taking over as chief executive at Handelsbanken's fund business. She replaces Katja Bergqvist, who has assumed the role of chief executive of Handelsbanken Capital Markets' savings and asset management division. Ragnartz is currently head of institutional asset management at SEB. She will join Handelsbanken on 1 November and, until Ragnartz joins Bergqvist, will also run the fund business alongside her other duties.

Pensions Administration Standards Association (PASA) - Debra Soper of Pearson, Mark Adamson of JLT, Karen Bennett from AB Foods and Phillip Bretnall from HSBC have been elected to the board. From August, PASA's new board will include Margaret Snowdon, Kim Gubler, Sara Cook, John Simmonds, Phil Bradish, John Broker, Peter Dyer, Fergus Clarke, Debra Soper, Mark Adamson, Karen Bennett and Phillip Bretnall.

Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP) - William Low has been appointed as director of equities. He succeeds Andrew November, who is take up the newly created role of investment propositions director and has served as director of equities since August 2010. Low joined in April from BlackRock, where he worked for 15 years.

AMP Capital - Manish Aggarwal has been appointed investment and operations director on the global infrastructure team. Aggarwal has more than 17 years' industry experience and has worked at Lloyds Banking Group in London and ABN AMRO in Singapore, London and Amsterdam.
