European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA) – Christian Dargnat has been appointed president for a two-year term, succeeding Claude Kremer. Dargnat is chief executive at BNP Paribas Asset Management, the largest investment centre of BNP Paribas Investment Partners, of which he is CIO. Alexander Schindler, a member of the executive board at Union Asset Management, has been appointed vice-president.

Association of Pension Funds of the Czech RepublicJiří Rusnok, former director of the ING Pension Fund in the Czech Republic, and until last year president of the Association of Pension Funds of the Czech Republic, was appointed prime minister of the Czech Republic on 25 June. Rusnok had served as finance minister (2001-02) and industry and trade minister (2012-03). Latterly, he was economic adviser to Czech president Milos Zeman. Rusknok's predecessor, Petr Nečas, was forced to resign on 16 June following a bribery and spying scandal involving his chief of staff, leading to the collapse of his centre-right coalition government.

European Association of Paritarian Institutions (AEIP) – The AEIP has elected Gerard Riemen as president. Riemen, who is currently director of the Dutch Federation of Pension Funds, will replace Peter Huber. Riemen will remain president until 2015. During its annual general assembly in The Hague, the AEIP also renewed three other executive roles. Renato Guerriero, global head of European client relations at Dexia Asset Management in Italy, was appointed vice-president. Bernd Merz, assistant to the prevention head division at BG BAU in Germany, joins as treasurer, while Michel Keller, current vice-president of the board of the French Organisme Commun des Institutions de Rente et de Prévoyance, joins as secretary of the board.

Mercer – The consultancy has announced a reorganisation of its investment division, replacing the current head of its European investment business Tom Geraghty and creating two new senior roles targeting global emerging markets. Geraghty become chief executive of the consultancy's Irish business, replaced by current global CIO Andrew Kirton as head of the European investment business from July onwards.

AmundiMark Miller has been appointed head of UK institutional at Amundi's London branch. He joins from Blackstone Alternative Asset Management, where he held a similar role. Before then, he spent six years at Fidelity International, latterly as head of UK institutional. Miller has previously held positions in the asset management businesses of Legal & General Investment Management, Morley Fund Management and the Robert Fleming Group.

Global Thematic PartnersAjeet Manjrekar has joined Global Thematic Partners as a managing director to establish and lead its UK office. He will be responsible for managing relationships with institutional clients. He joins from Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management, where he led the company's relationships with UK pension funds and consultants.

HSBC Global Asset Management – The asset manager has announced two appointments and a structural reorganisation to strengthen its institutional team. Stuart White becomes the head of institutional for the UK, while Laura Bell becomes head of consultant relations for Europe. The appointments are made as part of a reorganisation to form one integrated UK institutional unit, led by White.
 
Axa Investment ManagersAndrea Rossi has been appointed chief executive and joins the group's executive committee. Rossi, who is currently chief executive at Axa Assicurazioni in Italy, will succeed Dominique Carrel-Billiard, who has decided to leave the group. Frédéric de Courtois, chief executive at Axa MPS, will take the lead of the group's main insurance operations in Italy, replacing Rossi.

Skagen FundsLauren Juliff has joined the UK institutional client service team, with responsibility for developing the local institutional client base. She joins from Schroder Investment Management, where she was head of defined contribution business development. Before then, she was a marketing executive at Fidelity Investments.

Saemor Capital – The Dutch hedge fund has appointed Mary Kahng as head of investor relations. She joins from ING Investment Management, where she was a director and product specialist for alternative investments. Before then, she worked for 12 years at Ivy Asset Management.

Mirabaud Asset ManagementNicolas Cremieux has been hired to bolster the company's expertise in convertible bonds. He joins from Dexia Asset Management, were he was senior manager of international convertible bonds.
