BT Pension SchemeEileen Haughey has been appointed chief executive of BT Pension Scheme Management. She joins from the ICI Pension Fund, where she was also chief executive of the trustee's secretariat and support function. Before then, she was a partner at Deloitte and was head of corporate finance at Marks & Spencer for more than five years. She has more than 25 years' experience in pensions, tax, treasury and corporate finance. 

European CommissionPhilippe Maystadt, former president of the European Investment Bank (EIB) and former Belgian deputy prime minister, has joined as special adviser focusing on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) issues. Maystadt is to help Brussels to reinforce the EU's contribution to IFRS questions and to review the governance of the institutions developing these standards.

Blue DiamondErik Valtonen, the former CIO at Swedish buffer fund AP3, has joined the asset management firm Blue Diamond as its chief executive. Valtonen, who joined the €26bn Tredje AP-fonden (AP3) in Sweden in 2000, has been a member of Blue Diamond's advisory board since September 2011. Based in Switzerland, Blue Diamond Asset Management is a privately held investment boutique founded in 2009.

Mitesh Sheth, the former head of fixed income at Henderson Global Investors, is setting up his own consultancy to advise asset management businesses on adapting their business models to increasingly "outcomes-oriented" demand from both institutional and wholesale and retail clients. Sheth joined Henderson in 2005, but in February 2012 he handed over the reins to Henderson's £16bn (€18.7bn) fixed income business to head of structured products Jim Irvine so that he could take on an interim role as director of business innovation. Sheth formally left Henderson in December 2012.

MercerBrian Henderson has been appointed head of the consultancy's new defined contribution (DC) group. He will serve as leader for the entire Defined Contribution (DC) and Workplace Savings (MWS) offering in the UK, following a restructuring of the company's services. Henderson was previously the DC leader for investments in the UK and a member of Mercer's European and Global DC Leadership teams.

Premier – The pensions, benefits and actuarial firm has appointed Stephanie Murphy as senior actuary and consultant. She joins from Ernst & Young, where she has been a senior manager in the pensions advisory team for the last three years. She has previously held roles at the Pensions Regulator and Mercer. Premier has also announced the appointment of Gemma Causbrook as pensions administrator and Michelle Jordon as assistant pension fund accountant.

Lyxor Asset ManagementVéronique Parizet has been appointed head of sales for French and German-speaking Europe. She joins from BNP Paribas Investment Partners, where she was director of sales for large institutional clients in France. Meanwhile, Frédéric Bordas has been appointed head of sales for asset management in France, while Julien Martin has been appointed to a similar position in Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg and Monaco.

Legal & GeneralMike Edwards has been appointed as a sales director on the pension scheme insurance de-risking solutions team. He joins from KPMG, where he advised companies on the design and implementation of pension de-risking solutions. Before then, he worked at Hewitt Associates advising both companies and trustees on pensions scheme management.

Buck Global Investment AdvisorsBernard Nelson has been appointed senior investment consultant. He will advise UK defined benefit and defined contribution clients on all aspects of their investment policy. He joins from Mercer, where he was lead consultant to a wide range of pension funds.

GeneraliNikhil Srinivasan has been appointed group CIO. He joins from Allianz, where he has worked since 2003 in a number of investment roles in Asia and Munich. His last position was as group CIO of Allianz Investment Management and a member of the international executive committee.

Thomas Miller InvestmentAbi Oladimeji has been appointed director. Oladimeji is head of investment strategy at Thomas Miller, which he joined in 2006 after several years as a consultant specialising in financial economics. In his current role, he will manage multi-asset portfolios for institutional clients.

BNY MellonGregory Chemin has been appointed as the business head of derivatives clearing services, based in Frankfurt, Germany. Chemin has previously held senior sales roles at European broker HPC's French operation and at Newedge in Germany. Separately, Andrea Sturm has been appointed head of sales for asset servicing in the German-speaking and Central and South Eastern European region. She joins from Portigon.

AltinTony Morrongiello has been appointed chief executive at the Swiss alternative investment company. He has managed or advised a number of alternative investment companies and has founded Caliburn Capital Partners, a company that managed funds of theme funds in London, Geneva and Singapore.
