UK – Tony Good, the former head of investment research at Norwich Union Investment Management who is now with Hermes, has joined the UK’s accounting standard Board – along with Peter Westlake of Deutsche Asset Management.
“I am very delighted with the quality and experience that both Tony Good and Peter Westlake bring to the board,” said Sir Bryan Nicholson, chairman of the Financial Reporting Council. The appointments are effective from September 1.
“We have under Ian Mackintosh’s chairmanship, a board which combines experience of business, the accountancy and law profession.”
Good is an independent consultant who advises UBS and is a non-executive member of the UK investment committees of Hermes Focus Asset Management. He chairs the UK Society of Investment Professionals’ accounting advocacy committee.
Westlake is the UK head of research at DeAM.
Earlier this year, Anne Maher, the head of the Irish pensions regulator, was appointed to the UK’s Professional Oversight Board for Accountancy.
