State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) is set to launch a range of European country, regional and sector exchange traded funds (ETFs) based on MSCI indices.
The funds – subject to regulatory approval – will be listed on Euronext, the stock and futures exchange formed last year by the merger of the Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris exchanges.
The ETFs will be based on the following MSCI indices: Pan-Euro, Europe Consumer Discretionary, Europe Consumer Staples, Europe Energy, Europe Financials, Europe Health Care, Europe Industrials, Europe Information Technology, Europe Materials, Europe Telecommunication Services, Europe Utilities, United Kingdom, Europe Small Cap.
Baer Pettit, MSCI’s head of Europe, comments: "The ETFs to be listed on Euronext are the first in a series of products to come from our licensing arrangement with State Street. Sector investing is particularly prevalent in Europe and we are particularly pleased to see our sector indices at the forefront of the ETF market."
