NORDIC – Threadneedle Investments has named Thomas Berglund as head of Nordic distribution, responsible for the developing the firm’s business in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.
Last month Threadneedle took on Rainer Schröder from Invesco as head of German distribution.
Berglund joins from If Property & Casualty Insurance where he was responsible for selecting external fund managers, Threadneedle said. He has worked at Andersen Consulting and Ernst & Young.
It would initially target institutional investors, such as insurance companies, pension funds and corporates. It will offer equity, bond and liability-led products as well as alternatives such as hedge funds.
“We see good opportunities in the Nordic market and believe there is an ongoing demand for superior investment management services which are backed by a strong investment process,” said Christian Pellis, Threadneedle’s head of European distribution.
“Thomas’ experience makes him exceptionally well placed to fully understand the requirements and concerns of institutional clients and this, coupled with our strong investment offering, is a compelling proposition.”
